Multinational e-commerce company Amazon can invest $ 20 billion (about Rs 1.5 lakh crore) in the retail business of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Group. Bloomberg quoted this source as saying. A source familiar with the matter has been quoted as saying that Reliance wants to sell up to 40 per cent stake in its retail business.

Significantly, after its earlier investment in Reliance’s Jio platform, Silver Lake Partners (SLP) has placed bets in retail. Silver Lake, the world’s largest tech investor company, will invest 7500 crores. In return, the company will get 1.75 percent stake in Reliance Retail.

For this, the valuation of Reliance Retail has been fixed at Rs 4.21 lakh crore. Let us tell you that Silver Lake has bought a stake in Reliance’s Jio platform for $ 1.35 billion i.e. about 10 thousand crores.
