In the current financial year, Rs 1.27 lakh crore income tax refunds have been issued. Giving information, Finance Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey said that these refunds have been issued to individuals and businessmen. Pandey said that this process of issuing refunds is completely automated and transparent. The revenue department monitors this system every week. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices are stable once again on Saturday. Petrol is being sold in Delhi at Rs 81.06 while diesel is selling at Rs 70.46 per liter.

The government has said that it will make every effort to provide equal opportunities for everyone in the e-commerce sector. While giving this assurance, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash also emphasized that violation of government policies will no longer be tolerated.

The government has allowed import of potatoes from Bhutan without a license. Its purpose is to increase domestic supply and control its prices. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification that imports without license are allowed only till 31 January 2021. However, the import of potatoes comes under restricted category. This means that any importer needs a license from DGFT to import potatoes. However, the government has relaxed the import norms.
