Invest India receives United Nations Investment Promotion Award, PM Modi congratulates

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has given the United Nations Investment Promotion Award 2020 to ‘Invest India’. This award was given only on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Invest India for winning the United Nations Investment Promotion Award.

Invest India receives United Nations Investment Promotion Award

Invest India, a government organization promoting investment in India, has been announced to receive the United Nations Investment Promotion Award for the year 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated this. 

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has given the United Nations Investment Promotion Award 2020 to ‘Invest India’. This award was given only on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Invest India for winning the United Nations Investment Promotion Award. 

What did the PM say 

PM Modi tweeted, “This is a proof of our government in making India the preferred investment destination of the world and ease of doing business”.

The award ceremony took place in Geneva, headquarters of UNCTAD on Monday. This award underlines the remarkable achievements of the investment promotion agencies of the world. It is based on the assessment of the functioning and activities of 180 national investment promotion agencies of UNCTAD.

In this context, the Commerce Ministry said, ‘UNCTAD underlines the good activities adopted in Invest India. This includes trade rebate forums, special investment forums, webinars (programs organized on the Internet) series, related activities on social media and emphasis on measures to deal with Kovid-19.
