The stock market is buzzing today, Sensex rises by 405 points 

In the morning, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex gained 379 points to open at 51,404.68 and in a short time it rose by 405 points to reach 51,430.43.

The Sensex ended 254.03 points at 51,279.51 at the end of trading.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty gained 104 points to open at 15,202.15 and rose to 15,218.45. The Nifty closed at 15,174.80, up 76.40 points at the end of trading.

Nifty Pharma, IT, Auto and Metal indices rose by one per cent each. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices remained in green mark.

Sentiment has also improved for domestic IT companies in the US due to the rapid rise of IT shares. Good buy was seen in heavyweights and midcap stocks. NBFCs and housing finance companies saw a boom. Shriram Transport gained more than 3 percent. There was a buying trend in stocks like Bajaj Finance, LIC Housing.

Rupee weak

The Indian rupee opened at 72.96 with a slight weakness against the US dollar today. Finally, the rupee closed at a flat level of 72.91. On Tuesday, it had closed at 72.93 with a gain of 32 paise.

On Tuesday, the market was successful in closing the green mark amid fluctuations of the day. Sensex closed at 51,025.48 with a gain of 584.41 points, or 1.16 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty closed at 15,037.90 with a strength of 81.70 points i.e. 0.55 per cent.

However, mid- and small-cap stocks saw a sell-off and the BSE mid-cap index closed down 0.66 per cent and the small-cap index by 0.41 per cent.
