Today Market News– Due to the positive start in the domestic stock market and the weakness in the US currency, the domestic stock market closed on the first trading day of the week on Monday. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex closed up 592.97 points at 37981.63. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 11227.55 with a gain of 177.30 points. In early trade, the Sensex opened at 37604.50, up 215.84 points, or the Nifty opened 55.10 points at 11105.35.

Among today’s major stocks, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, ONGC and Tata Motors closed on the green mark. The shares of Wipro, Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India and Infosys closed at the red mark.

The rupee strengthened six paise to 73.55 against the US dollar
In the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit fell by three paise to open at 73.64, but then gained ground to 73.55 against the dollar, showing a rise of six paise over the previous closing price. The rupee had closed at 73.61 against the US dollar on Friday. IIA Global founder and CEO said the market move would be further influenced by Biden and Trump’s competition in the US presidential elections.
