No extra chance for UPSC candidates, Supreme Court rejected plea

UPSC CSE 2020 Interview: Civil Services Exam Interview Announced

No extra chance for UPSC candidates, Supreme Court rejected plea. SC Verdict on UPSC 2021: The students who missed the last chance to take the UPSC 2020 exam have been shocked. The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the students’ petition. In fact, the people whose age limit for taking the UPSC exam was over in October 2020 last year, they went to the Supreme Court seeking extension of time for last attempt, but the court has rejected the petition.

Earlier, on 05 February, the Center had agreed to give an additional chance to the candidates who had lost the final event, but with the condition that they should be within age bar. In this case, the students had also demanded age relocation, which was rejected by the Supreme Court today.

The court held that everyone has got enough time to prepare for the exam and that if age relaxation is given for the extra examination, it will be unfair to other students. After this, students can demand age relation by citing this decision, which will not end.

On 25 January, the Department of Personnel and Training filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court informing that an additional opportunity will not be provided to such candidates whose all the applicants have been completed. However, the court had verbally suggested that an additional opportunity may be given in the event that the candidate has not met the prescribed age limit.
