Oxford University’s vaccine was the most expected in the corona virus case. Its initial results during the trial were also encouraging. But suddenly the trial of this vaccine has been stopped. This happened due to a person’s poor health during the trial. India was also expected from this vaccine and an agreement was also reached regarding its production. When the corona is seen subsiding in the whole world, then in the past few weeks, about 80 thousand new cases are coming up every day. In this case, stopping the trial of this vaccine is nothing short of a shock for India.

Trial has been stopped in many countries including the US, Britain. People all over the world have been disappointed after receiving the news of stopping the trial.

Trial of this vaccine was also being conducted in India, but the trial has not been stopped here. The Serum Institute Company of India had tied up with AstraZeneca to mass produce the Oxford vaccine. Serum Institute had talked about providing vaccines to many other countries as well as India.

If the Oxford vaccine fails, India’s problems may increase. However, CEO of Serum Institute, Adar Poonawala has said that there is no need to be disappointed so soon. He told Business Today, “The Oxford vaccine trial has not been stopped in India at the moment and there is nothing to worry about it.” The decision to stop the trial has been taken after a patient’s health deteriorated. Some neuro related problems have been seen in that patient. We should wait for AstraZeneca’s answer on all this. Whatever has happened has nothing to do with the vaccine.

According to a New York Times report, inflammation has been found in the spinal cord of the volunteer, usually due to viral infection. It is not yet clear whether it is due to the direct effect of the vaccine or due to other health related problems.

On behalf of AstraZeneca it has also been said that people need not panic. This trial has not been canceled but has been stopped only for a few days. The company spokesperson described it as routine action. The company says that to investigate such cases, the trial has to be stopped for a few days.
