30 million doses of Russian Corona vaccine to be made in India
The success of the Sputnik-V vaccine was announced by Russian President Putin on 11 August. However, only Phase-1 and Phase-2 trials were completed by then. Trial of the third phase of vaccine started on 26 August which is currently underway. Around 40 thousand people are participating in the Phase-3 trial.
According to a Reuters report, the Russian Direct Investment Fund has tied up with the Indian company to produce a total of 300 million vaccine supplements. Dr. Reddy’s Lab will now start Phase-3 trial of this vaccine in India.
If the phase-3 trial results of the vaccine are good, then by November the vaccine may be available in India. Let us know that Russia is the first country in the world to license the Corona virus vaccine. However, Russia was also criticized by many experts in the world for approving the vaccine without a phase-3 trial.
How much will the Russian vaccine cost in India, it has not been decided at the moment. But RDIF said some time ago that its purpose is not to make profit from the vaccine. RDIF has already signed vaccine supply agreements with Kazakhstan, Brazil and Mexico. RDIF has also entered into an agreement with Saudi Chemical Company.
