According to the army, Chinese troops tried to infiltrate eastern Ladakh in violation of the first agreed consent. The Indian Army prevented Chinese troops from entering the Pengong and Tso Lake areas. Soldiers from both countries came face to face on the night of 29-30 August near Pangong Lake area in Eastern Ladakh. Chinese troops tried to infiltrate beyond the designated range.
