The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of JEE Mains 2020 on Friday night. Soon after the results are declared, the NTA has also released the cut off for the JEE Advanced 2020 entrance exam. Only those students who have cleared the JEE Main 2020 exam will be allowed to apply for JEE Advanced 2020 admission.

This year the cut-off has been increased for general category while the cut-off percentage for all other categories – Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Class (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Disability for individuals (PwD) is reduced.
The top 2.5 lakh students who pass the JEE Main 2020 entrance exam will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2020. The process of applying for JEE Advanced 2020 will start from today.

Let me tell you, the JEE Mains exam was conducted between 1 to 6 September. Due to Corona virus, students have been demanding to postpone the exam for a long time, but the government did not change its decision and the exam was conducted on the scheduled dates.
This year, more than 8.35 lakh candidates had registered for the JEE Main 2020 exam, out of which 6.3 lakh candidates appeared in the examination. The second session of JEE Main is held in April every year. However, due to the Corona virus epidemic this year, the exam had to be postponed and held in September.
