Indian team opener Rohit Sharma made one day cricket’s highest individual score in 2014 on this day i.e. on November 13. Rohit scored an innings of 264 runs against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
264 runs innings came out with the hitman’s bat today
The BCCI has shared a link to the video of that historic innings of Rohit. The BCCI tweeted and wrote, ‘On this day in 2014, Rohit Sharma made history by scoring 264 runs. This is the highest individual score in ODIs. This innings consists of 33 fours and nine sixes. Look at this great innings.
The right-handed batsman hit 33 fours and nine sixes in the innings of 173 balls. He scored the first 50 runs off 72 balls, but after that he changed gears and completed his century scoring fifty runs in the next 28 balls. He took 25 balls to reach 100 to 150. He completed 200 runs from 151 balls.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) also reminded social media users of Rohit’s innings. On the basis of this innings of Rohit, India scored 404 runs for five wickets. In reply, Sri Lanka were able to score only 251 runs and lost the match by 153 runs.
In his career of 224 ODIs, Rohit has scored a double century. He has scored a total of 29 centuries and 43 half-centuries. He recently won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title to the Mumbai Indians under his captaincy.
