The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the qualifying event for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 to be held in South Africa. 10 teams will take part in this tournament to be played on February 9 to 23.

Apart from the hosts for this World Cup, by November 30, 2021, the top-7 teams in the ICC rankings and the teams participating in the tournament played in Australia in 2020 will automatically qualify.

The qualification process for the remaining two teams will begin at the local level from August 2021 and 37 teams will participate in it. This is 10 teams more than the qualification process of Women’s T20 World Cup -2020. Bhutan, Botswana, Cameroon, France, Malawi, Myanmar, Philippines and Turkey will all attend the ICC Women’s Events for the first time.

The five regions will host local qualifying events. Two top teams from each region will qualify who will compete with the bottom two teams in the women’s T20 rankings by 30 November 2021. The top-ranked team will qualify for the final spot in the local qualifiers by the November cutoff date.
