Warner will compete with Kohli today, know what is the strength of RCB-SRH. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team captained by Virat Kohli will start their campaign today (Monday) in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Bengaluru will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. This match will be played from 7.30 pm Indian time. This will be the third match of the current IPL.
RCB vs SRH: Statistics say so
Talking of IPL records, there have been 14 matches (2013-2019) between (RCB and SRH), out of which Bangalore won 6, while Sunrisers Hyderabad won in 7. One match was a tie (Sunrisers won the tie match in the Super Over in the 2013 season).
Will Captain Kohli bat with runs?
Kohli’s dream of winning the title in the world’s most breathtaking T20 league by scoring the most runs (5412 runs in 177 matches) in the history of IPL will be fulfilled only when the team performs well in every department. The batting has been strengthened by the arrival of Australia’s limited-overs captain Aaron Finch in a team already filled with big players. Expectations are also high from young opener Devdutt Padikkal.
David Warner, on the other hand, has achieved the Orange Cap (the highest run-scorer in the season) in the tournament three times and under his captaincy the team became the champion in 2016. Warner and Johnny Bairstow are one of the tournament’s dangerous opening pairs. The pair shared a record for the first wicket (IPL) runs against RCB in the previous season.
Where is the weak link of Sunrisers?
For Sunrisers, lower-order batting can be a weak link. The franchise has relied on young batsmen like Virat Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Priyam Garg and Abdul Samad and it is expected that any of these players will do well in the middle order.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar of SRH is returning
However, the bowling unit of the team has not changed much and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the pace bowling where he will be supported by bowlers like Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul and Basil Thampi. Rashid Khan, considered the top bowler of the T20 format in the team, also has all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, who was in great rhythm in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The team also has left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem.
RCB team will rely on spin
RCB also have a good option in spin bowling. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will again be important, who will be supported by experienced bowlers such as Washington Sundar, Pawan Negi, Adam Zampa and Moin Ali. RCB had scored a lot of runs in the last overs in the last season and the team will try to eliminate that weak link. The franchise has added South African all-rounder Chris Morris to the squad.
