From the renders, we can see that the display is flat and features a punch-hole cutout in the top-left and phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor. This seems a bit odd, considering that OnePlus usually opts for the ‘Plus’ versions of Snapdragon 8xx chipsets for its T-series devices. A previous report by Android Central had claimed that the OnePlus 8T will feature the Snapdragon 865+ processor, so we’ll have to wait and see which one the phone ends up with. As for the RAM/storage variants, there are two we can confirm as of now, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB.
The curved back panel features a redesigned rectangular camera module in the top left corner, housing four sensors arranged in an L-shaped layout. An LED flash is also located within the module. The cameras will comprise a 48MP primary shooter, 16MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro and 2MP portrait sensors. The front camera will likely be a 32MP sensor, compared to the 16MP cameras on both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
The battery will be a beefy 4,500mAh unit, but the real upgrade will come in the form of 65W Warp Charge. The phone will run OxygenOS 11 out of the box, presumably based on Android 11.
As for the ports and buttons, the power button and alert slider are in their usual place on the left spine, while the volume rocker is on the right. The bottom edge is home to the ejectable SIM card tray, USB Type-C port and loudspeaker grill, while a noise cancelling mic is seen at the top.
OnePlus 8T could launch by the end of September or first week of October. The phone has already received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, which means the launch is around the corner.
