Chinese company Xiaomi has launched the first smart TV under the India Redmi series. Prior to this, the company has been launching Mi Series Smart TVs. Under the launch offer, ICICI Bank credit card users will be given a flat discount of Rs 2,000. Apart from this, the company has also announced the offer on OTT platform subscription.
Three sizes have been introduced under the Redmi TV X series. These include 50 inch, 55 inch and 65 inch models. The good thing is that 4K support has been given in all of these and there is also support for HDR content. All three models have LED screens, meaning OLED TV is not offered here.
The price of Redmi Smart TV X series starts at Rs 32,999. This is for the X50 model i.e. 50 inch model. The 55 inch model is priced at Rs 38,999, while the top variant i.e. 65 inch model has been priced at Rs 57,999.
The specifications of the three models are more or less the same. That is, features and software are common. The only difference is the screen size. Talking about sales, the sale of Redmi Smart TV X series is starting in India from 25th March. It can be purchased from Xiaomi’s offline stores including Amazon India website.
According to Xiaomi, these smart TVs have been given the Reality Flow and Vivid Picture Engine, which improves the viewing experience. Dolby audio has been given for better audio quality. These smart TVs from Xiaomi will compete with the Amazon Basic brand smart TVs and the Mi series smart TVs themselves.
Talking about the specifications of the Redmi TV X series, it has support for HDR 10+. These smart TVs will run on Android 10. Support of Google Assistant will also be found here. Users will have the option to access Android TV Launcher or Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI.
